Production Manager. Role Location: Monaghan/Louth. Permanent. Sector: Manufacturing. FRS Recruitment are working with a client in the Monaghan area to secure an experienced production manager for a small operation with global parent company connections. Ideally the client is seeking a seasoned production manager that has a solid technical background and that has worked in process engineering during their career to date. The Production Manager is to manage all the production operations including the managing & motivating of the Production Team plus taking responsibility for the consistent & constant improvement of target product yields and for the improvement of key processing and manufacturing operations in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability. The production manager will also have a knowledge in Lean manufacturing methodologies, WCM and or Kaizen. Key Responsibilities. - To optimise the overall Plant performance by ensuring budgeted production yields & occupation times are achieved and improved and where necessary reviewing the use of raw materials and the setting of line speeds & feeds etc. - To manage and motivate the entire Production Team, ensuring correct manning and multi-skill levels are maintained for the various operations plus relevant training & coaching is provided so that operators have a good understanding of and operation of the production equipment. - To manage and participate in all daily/weekly meetings in relation to Production-Process Control - Planning - H&S - Quality - R&D & Maintenance and ensuring all relevant information is communicated to the line leaders plus all other relevant personnel. -To manage the daily production / process line problems and implement technical solutions or adjustments if necessary, in consultation with other departments as appropriate (Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, R&D ). -To formalise and maintain up to date production process documentation, technical specifications and ensure all standard operating procedures and training instructions are compatible with all the ongoing process changes that may occur. - To ensure all company policies, and house agreement rules are adhered to by the production team and along with the line Leaders and the General Manager, maintain good, H&S / Working conditions / Quality standards plus manage any disciplinary, attendance timekeeping, and holiday issues that may arise. -To assist, along with the line leaders and planning/warehouse Manager, in the weekly and monthly stock takes plus the ordering of all production & operations consumables as required inc. all First Aid supplies. - To assess and lead regular audits of production lines and propose process improvements to improve plant manufacturing KPI's and CI standards re yields, speeds, and occupation times. -To liaise with suppliers or contractors for small modifications, and propose capital projects for large scale modifications. - To Define goals, content and schedule of assigned Continuous Improvement programs/projects in line with plant strategy, GPS roadmap and targets... Requirements for Production Manager. Good Leadership & Management skills, good Negotiating and Motivational skills, good Communication skills, works well within a team and has the ability to listen and analyse situations. Honesty and fairness is a key requirement and also the ability to work on their own initiative. They need to be logical thinkers with the capability to look at a problem from various angles and come up with a practical cost effective solution. -Strong technical problem solving ability and drive. -Organised, structured, rigorous and ability to work under pressure. -Strong interest for hands-on and on-the-floor involvement with machines and people. -Competence in Lean Manufacturing Principles. -Knowledge of Quality Systems (FMECA, SPC, Metrology, 6M, 5W, …) -Knowledge of mechanical & electrical automation design & systems & components. -Strong cross functional project management skills. -Strong mechatronic aptitude & experience of continuous automated production lines. -Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changes. -Degree qualification in process or mechanical engineering and 5 years, experience of continuous process manufacturing.
