Our client, a leading agri-food company are currently recruiting for a Food Analytical Laboratory Manager. Role Overview: Managing the Food Analytical laboratory in order to support routine day to day operations in terms of incoming samples and final release of finished reports. The Laboratory manager will work towards obtaining ISO17025 accreditation and its maintainance. The Laboratory manager will manage the laboratory budget and strategic planning of resources (personnel and equipment. The laboratory manager will implement processes and procedures to ensure on-time delivery of all testing in compliance with ISO17025, the relevant regulatory guidelines/industry standards and the relevant local and global safety guidelines. Manage the Food Analytical Team and support the development and implementation of new test methods required by the business. Supervise and support method qualification/ validation activities within the laboratory. Investigating non-conformances. Managing INAB and customer audits in the laboratory. Contribute to the discussion of results generated with other members of the R&D team and other Departments (i.e. Technical, etc.) Competencies to perform the role: Proven experience in the ability to develop and validated analytical methods. Experience in organising and supervising critical analytical data and work from research staff. Experience in working in high- paced and accredited environments. Ability to meet deadlines. Requirements. Degree in Chemistry and a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in the industry, including full direct responsibility for a laboratory team. Good understanding on modern analytical laboratory techniques ( e.g. HLPC and spectroscopy. Experience in developing and validating methods (ICH, FDA, etc.) Strong experience in method development – in particular in the area of organic chemistry. Experience in an ISO17025 accredited environment is a strong plus. Experience in the area of analytical testing of environmental samples is a plus. Possess a post-graduate degree in Food / Analytical Chemistry or related science. Other Significant Role Requirements: Comfortable with analysis of data and reporting. Computer literacy is essential, including knowledge of reporting systems. Strong attention to detail. Good communication skills and a team player Appreciation for compliance and ability to achieve. Assertive and independent minded. Self-organized, reliable and results-oriented working style, strong communication, fluent in English.
